At one point yesterday, the models had 14-18" here. Been burned too many times on "the big one" snowstorm.

Now the 2 forecasts providing accumulation estimates say about 8" which is still a crazy amount for a place without plows/salt trucks. And can't brine because starting as rain. My main concern is ice! I got a few extra groceries yesterday just in case I am snowed in for a while.

I'm in North Alabama and the same storm was yesterday predicted to dump upwards of 10in of snow on us. That changed earlier today to just a bunch of ice and freezing rain. It looks like it keeps shifting north though. Last time we had a significant winter storm, my whole street was a solid sheet of ice for three days.

Fox 4 WAPP now says 1-3" snow and ice sat, 1" snow sunday

Iphone now says 1-2" snow 1.1" wintry mix saturday, 5-7" snow sunday

Iphone yesterday had 11-14" sat, 3-5" sun. Tracking the forecasts more fun than the actual storm

My prediction for dfw: .75" freezing rain, 2" sleet, 3" of snow

I saw a model this morning that had the storm line just north of Raleigh. You all would still get smacked with an artic blast though.

I live in the Mid-Atlantic, and all of the models still have us getting between 6 and 12 inches of snow. Should be a light dusty snow though

Stocked up the fridge today.

Man, FB reminding me through memories of the big snowstorm that we had here in DC 10 years ago. I think this storm dropped like 14 inches on us. I guess this area has a history of big storms around this time of the year...








They were working in the capitol at the time. There was an empty parking lot across the street from my crib with huge snow banks. Perfect puppy playground!

We got about 9 inches of snow in total. Then there was a layer of freezing rain and sleet.

Now, it's supposed to stay around 20 degrees as a high for the next week, so all this snow and ice is going to stay here

The city has been working plowing the main roads throughout the storm. I bet the main roads will be cleared by mid day tomorrow. No one has touched the secondary roads yet. Sidewalks and streets in my neighborhood still have all of that snow on them.

I did manage to get out before the storm to get plenty of food and other supplies...so, as long as the power stays on, I'm Gucci. Most of the city is going to be shut down for a couple of days
