“Sigh” is right. The teaser shows absolutely nothing special looking, but I still am holding out a little hope for some Shane Black magic though. 5/10/2018 8:25:27 PM |

lol, movie was a complete mess. So many things wrong with it. Without a doubt the worst of the standalone Predator movies and potentially a contender for being worse than AvP: Requiem. This movie literally made fun of people with mental disabilities. 9/17/2018 8:53:28 AM |

I haven’t seen this yet, but I definitely will at some point, even knowing it is a mess.
I just want to address Requiem, I think it’s better than the first AvP. Not saying it’s a good movie by any means, but it least it had some fun R rated action violence. First AvP was some PG-13 bullshit buddy flick where I honestly thought the chick and the Predator might kiss at the end 9/17/2018 10:38:46 AM |

I went in with low expectations, and enjoyed it.
I wanted a gritty reboot of this franchise, but this was fun. Didn't like the ending though. 9/17/2018 7:45:08 PM |

Was the first Predator not gritty enough for you? 9/18/2018 9:03:42 AM |

Oh look, another remake.
Stop supporting this shit and maybe some original thought and script writing would come out of Hollywood 9/18/2018 11:18:33 PM |

Technically this is not a remake. It is a direct sequel (ignoring AvP). It references the events of the first two Predator movies a handful of times. Predators (technically Predator 3) wasn't set on Earth so it is understandable that the government/characters wouldn't be aware of it's events.
I think the biggest problem with Predator sequels is that it can't replicate the same amount of suspense that the first one did. We already know going in what a Predator looks like and what kind of technology it uses, so we know what to expect. With the first one, we didn't even see the Predator until like 45 mins in, and even then it was cloaked. 9/19/2018 9:39:56 AM |

<spoilers> Every Predator is bullet proof everywhere unless the round was shot from a weaker handgun when it looks coolest, execution style.
What made Predator cool was their behavior as hunters: they'd use stealth to stalk their prey and strategically pick them off. Not these Predators. These were bullet immune tanks that just walk up, absorb a hundred bullets to the face, and slash or shoot their prey up close and sloppily.
And what about the Predator slaughtering dozens of people makes the government dude decide the Predator is here to help mankind? The Predator certainly never said he was, and not like the Predator left a note to run through the translator.
Also, at the very first of the money. He hired the bar tender to ship a package...did the bar tender die on the way back to the bar? I guess the government dudes that showed up shot him on sight? Because why the heck wouldn't he tell anyone "oh yea, this guy I don't like had me mail a package. Give me five bucks."

^There are SO many plot holes so I didn't list any, but man reading your post reminded me of them haha.
Okay so the first Predator is on a peace mission. He wants to save the human race from extinction or whatever. He has this super technology that he wants to bring them. His course of action when crash landing on Earth is to immediately kill and mutilate the first human he comes in contact with. That certainly screams peaceful mission to me.
Also, the lead woman scientist -- let's fly her in to this secret military/science installation that is for some reason in a dam instead of something like Area 51. Predator escapes and she goes after it with a tranquilizer to try and stun it since it killed all the soldiers trained to do this exact thing, but okay. Yeah, she fails, but she isn't a soldier. The first soldier that comes across her after failing to stop the Predator is ordered to execute her. Why? Aside from her being the world's leading scientist in whatever they were doing, it's not like she was trying to escape or had learned any additional compromising info? She was literally trying to help them and doing a better job than any of the soldiers at stopping the Predator.
lol, then Key and Thomas Jane managed to hot wire 8 motorcycles that just happened to be parked there in the span of 20 seconds so they could run over the soldier that was gonna execute her.
Oh and by the end of the movie, she is experienced enough in assault rifles to accurately shoot one, reload it, and competently use the grenade launcher attachment. I mean, they could at least have mentioned that she was in the armed forces to pay for college or something.
