I'm going to try to read a book each week next year. I have a shitload of books that I haven't read yet, and plus I'm hoping to try to cut back on the time I waste fuckin' around on the internet. So who's with me?
12/29/2009 1:13:55 PM
Pft...Reading.
12/29/2009 1:15:09 PM
I'm shooting for 6 non-school novels.
12/29/2009 1:15:17 PM
I'll do it. Are there any rules, or just go at it?
12/29/2009 1:16:10 PM
here's something to wear while you're reading
12/29/2009 1:18:12 PM
reading is very overrated. But knock yourself out… sounds like it could be interesting.
12/29/2009 1:19:06 PM
Mein Kampf
12/29/2009 1:19:33 PM
reading is hard for people? Wow I must be a dork I go through at least 5 library books about every two weeks
12/29/2009 1:20:46 PM
i only read factual information that is accessible via internets
12/29/2009 1:21:16 PM
it's not worth the words
12/29/2009 1:21:21 PM
12/29/2009 1:21:23 PM
I've read two books so far this break, can they count forward?
12/29/2009 1:22:55 PM
e-books!
12/29/2009 1:23:51 PM
^^No, it's not 2010.
12/29/2009 1:24:40 PM
Oh man, this is going to be hard finding 52 new books, I'm sure I'll reread some books.
12/29/2009 1:25:18 PM
For my 52 books, I'm going to try to make them all new books I haven't read, but we'll see how that goes cause I might just really want to reread a book. I think I have probably close to 52 books here I haven't read so it shouldn't be hard. Plus I go to thrift shops throughout the year and buy books for 50 cents. I'm gonna use this thread to keep my running list of what books I've read. Everyone else should feel free to do the same.
12/29/2009 1:27:54 PM
Sweet...thrift shops, didn't even think of buying books there...I might have to check it out, maybe I'll run by there today and stock up on books.
12/29/2009 1:29:10 PM

12/29/2009 1:38:23 PM
haha, I can't believe there are people that are this anti reading!
12/29/2009 1:41:59 PM
Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have put this in chit chat with all the idiots. Entertainment may have been better, but oh well. I need to finish Lovely Bones before Jan 1, then I can read Time Traveler's Wife and finish Eclipse for my first two books.
12/29/2009 1:44:24 PM
Lovely Bones is really good, I read it in a weekend.
12/29/2009 1:45:36 PM
12/29/2009 1:47:19 PM
^^yeah I just started yesterday and haven't read much of it, and am already a third of the way through.^I was just thinking the other day that I'd love to be able to take public transit so I could read. I have an hour long commute to school every day and it seems like such wasted time.
12/29/2009 1:49:00 PM
With a book in my hand and my iPod playing in my ears I'd be in my own little world on the subway. Just need to be aware of where your stop/transfers are
12/29/2009 1:50:23 PM
I'll do it with you
12/29/2009 1:55:08 PM
i will sign up for this challenge
12/29/2009 2:03:21 PM
I should do this. I bought a lot of like 300 random novels off eBay a while back.

12/29/2009 2:04:42 PM
read a motherfucking book?
12/29/2009 2:18:19 PM
I don't hate on reading, but I only read a few books a year. When my life is more settled, I'll read more.
12/29/2009 2:24:53 PM
Read the entire ASOIAF series by George R. R. Martin. They're each 900 pages.
12/29/2009 2:25:09 PM
I wish I had time for this
12/29/2009 2:26:00 PM
what is your page limit?
12/29/2009 2:29:32 PM
fuck, this means i have to finish the books i'm already reading in the next 2 days
12/29/2009 2:29:40 PM
I'm hoping you have a kindle or something - real books are for chumps
12/29/2009 2:30:43 PM
I hope nobody ever gives me a Kindle. I fucking hate those things.
12/29/2009 2:34:26 PM
thanks for the visual bookshelf recommendation. that'll help me keep better track of what i want to read next. i'm good at forgetting.and i love my kindle
12/29/2009 2:39:09 PM
I don't think I would want a kindle. I like the feel of actually having the book. Plus I don't like reading at length from a screen.
12/29/2009 2:39:41 PM
^^indeed.^What she said.
12/29/2009 3:08:35 PM
^^kindle screens are nothing like reading from an iToy or similar backlit device. The screen is super clear and very easy to read.
12/29/2009 3:11:55 PM
But paper feels good. Some things just really don't need to be automated (imo).
12/29/2009 3:12:48 PM
agreed, fuck a kindle.
