the worst part about this, I have exactly one friend in Raleigh, and she has a significant other. So I don't even have girlfriends to go out with and bitch that we don't need men to feel better with.

We usually go out to a fancy dinner on or around V-day, but we just spend $$$ last weekend at Flemmings before we went and saw RENT. So this year will be more low key.

I think I will be making my man a nice romantic dinner.

I was thinking lobster, and maybe some cutesy valentines day things, like heart shapped appetizers and what not. Food network usually had good ideas for that.

Then we can pop the champagne since this is our first V-day as a married couple

ha, about the same way I celebrated my birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's...

by flying laps around Baghdad/Mosul/Iskandyria/Fallujah/Tikrit, or by locking myself in the secret room for hours, studying tactics and threats, or by working on my ground job, or some combination thereof.

I am getting the wife some jewelery and we're going to eat at Ruth's Chris...the meal is leftover gift cards from Christmas though.

So all told it will probably run me around $200-$250

Probly between $1,000 - $2,000

I'm flying my girl out to Vegas. I will be there February 7 - 14th and I am flying her out the 10th - 14th, paying for the hotel, have front row seats to O!, and plan on taking her out at least one night plus gambling and food.

I will probably end up cooking something amazing (yet to be determined). Couple bottles of champagne and really awesome evening activities . Cheap, entertaining. He knows he is getting a Valentines Kitten, so we will probably coo over it for the period between dinner and sexytime. So for all in all, about a hundred for present + dinner + booze.

well im not expecting much since he'll be on a reserves thing for 2 weeks before vday and returning on the 13th guys don't exactly think that far in advance so i think he doesn't realize its going to be the day after he gets home! besides hes going to be a ship and not exactly able to go out and buy something.

i'd like to do fondue at the house (meat & sweets). i got him a card. i'd be happy with a card and some grocery store flowers

ive never been huge on v-day. im not all anti but flowers and a card are pretty much my expectations, anything else is just bonus.

i view v-day as a designated date night with a few extras, nothing more

i plan on spending around $50 which includes the card and food for fondue

i guess he'll spend around $15-20? that is assuming i get flowers (and i dont expect roses nor do i really care for them so anything nicer than carnations will be good)
