Ok, I admit. I was in the stream too far down river chasing salamanders and shit when the Timber Rattler was found. BUT IT WAS AWESOME!! We did handle numerous copperheads, most of which seemed to be found near the girls cabins... hmmm.

And we had a copperhead milk on the bag, and we tagged every snake we found. NOW YOU WANNA TOUCH ME?!?!

it was a non-venomous snake, and they didn't show his hand to the camera very well so i doubt he got bit

plus neither the gauze nor his hand was bloody when he continued the show, and his hand should've been streaming blood from the rush of being on stage

a big snake can bloody you up, but i've been bitten on the hand by a 10+ foot carpet python, and i was just dribbling blood all over the floor. definitely no gushing. i've seen someone get bitten on the arm by a ~9' burmese python, and he just had some blood running down his arm.

I didn't see the show, and I don't really know snake species all that well.

I shouldn't have edited my post now. Yeah, a python will make you bleed more - but aren't they typically docile? The worst bleeder I saw this summer was from a Northern water snake because of the anti-coagulant in their saliva. I've never seen a bite make someone gush blood or one with a lot of blood.

The issue isn't the amount of bleeding, it's the risk of infection. Snakes, like most reptiles, have mouths jam-packed with bacteria.

I know that, but the issue in this thread is that the guy got bit but didn't bleed throughout the show. I was just saying that it was possible for that to happen and I have never seen much blood from a snake bite.
