The other day I was trying to bum a ride back to the put-in on the Ocoee and the thought occurred to me that I needed a sign that just said "I'm Cold" on it. I hitch shuttle rides all the time as do most paddlers. I bought some laminated sheets so I can keep my sign in my boat. The thought also occurred to me that tdub has ppl who are far more creative than me... ideas?

When teaching in the backcountry I take a big-ass ziplock bag and put contact paper on the inside to create a dry erase board. It weighs practically nothing and takes up no room in my pack or canoe. Add a dry erase marker and you can customize your sign to any situation.

Though, as a paddler you should know a sign isn't what you need in your hands to catch a ride, this is:
