their food was not that good. i used to work there and i hated it... the management was terrible, checks bounced all the time... they made a host go outside and shovel dirt in the parking lot one day. 11/6/2007 10:01:07 PM |

to get a franchise like that you have to prove some pretty decent net worth, like enough to float the whole operation on your own for a while assuming big time losses/no business.
the management must have SUCKED, or someone falsified some financial documents. thats not some quiznos 11/6/2007 10:21:20 PM |

I heard it closed down because of too much competition in the area. Apparently Wendys and The Gas Station both served better food. 11/6/2007 10:29:34 PM |

from what i heard the owner also owned businesses in the NY/NJ area and he was funneling money from the one here which was successful to those to keep them afloat. this meant he didn't have the funds to keep damon's going and apparently he was changing suppliers every few weeks because they weren't getting paid and it just kept spiraling out of control and then he went into bankruptcy. 11/6/2007 10:52:00 PM |

I went to the Damon's at Myrtle Beach about 4 years ago when my bf and I first started dating. It was good.
However, my new favorite beach eating place is California Dreaming... mmmmmmmmm 11/6/2007 11:21:31 PM |

^^ That's why it got a "good" from me. The atmosphere and the view over the ocean was what made it so nice. It could have been a McDonald's and the view would have still made it.
Seriously though, we only went once, and it was storming outside so the view really was awesome.

Oh, I didn't know there was one there. I was talking about the one I went to 4 years ago when it was on the beach. We ate dinner and watched surfers in the storm.

I put in an offer on a house right behind the fairgrounds on Grand Ave once. Some assfucker offered above their asking price to beat me out.
There is an awesome neighborhood called "Nowell Pointe" right between Chapel Hill Rd. and Trinity. It seems to be the best of both worlds. Close enough for a nice view of the fireworks from your deck, quick access to I-40 or Wade Ave., and still far enough away to avoid fair/hockey traffic a little.11/6/2007 11:54:56 PM |
