yeah, people are going to say that fountain sucked and it's gross and blah blah blah...but the truth is that it was pretty darn good food when i was there, and sometimes, when i'm over on main campus, i stop in and have lunch and it's pretty damn tasty 10/23/2007 2:04:45 PM |

I miss Fountain.
You can always tell the n00bs there too, because they only have one cup. 10/23/2007 2:26:23 PM |

I can count the number of times I ate there on one hand, but one of those times they had a pasta bar thing that was really good.
And by really good I mean adequate. 10/23/2007 2:37:45 PM |

The popcorn chicken was always tasty.
And it's hard to mess up rib-shaped meat, or sloppy joes.
Sunday brunch was the best all-around though--breakfast was pretty good (the biscuits and gravy were very good actually) and some lunch selections too. 10/23/2007 3:00:14 PM |

Back in the day, as one of the Sullivan Pyramid smokers, some of us would stay up all night long smoking and playing Tekken. We would last those last few hours on the anticipation of breakfast at Fountain. The only way in hell we ever made it to breakfast was to stay up all night. 10/23/2007 3:03:44 PM |

The burgers were always tolerable, and were available all the time, so they were like my old standby.
The Chicken and "dumplings" were the worst I have ever had. It was more like chicken and really thick pieces of pasta instead of the fluffy biscuit like things they are supposed to be. 10/23/2007 3:19:02 PM |

I NEVER understood the obsession with popcorn chicken. I thought it was pretty damn disgusting.
That said...after the first month of college, I only went for the hangover breakfast on the weekends.10/23/2007 4:52:13 PM |

freshman year.. every day i'd get: -pasta with marinara -spinach salad with black olives, carrots, cheese, eggs, no dressing -whatever fruit they had -perhaps some ice cream/desert it was delicious. partly because it's hard to mess those things up. 10/23/2007 5:04:32 PM |

I think that people bash Fountain because Clark is just newer and has slightly better food/service, but I'll eat at Fountain over most any other food available.
I always put a square of cake in a bowl and cover it with the soft serve ice cream. And those thin cookie/brownie things are always kickass, I take about 4-5 of them with me when I leave. 10/23/2007 6:57:47 PM |

I have no idea how they are supposed to be in the north and south, but it's the way my family has always made them.
The dense square dumplings at fountain don't hold a candle to fluffy biscuit style dumplings.
This is the kind of chicken & dumplings I enjoy:

the prime rib and chocolate cake @ xmas was always pretty decent. cheese burgers, waffles and made to order omelette's are pretty much impossible to screw up. regardless of what it was it all ended in horrible mud butt. its like your body had to build up a tolerance for it or something, it was always hell the first couple of weeks but got progressively less severe the more you ate there. skip it for a few days and you're back to the liquid shits. 10/23/2007 10:34:01 PM |

I used to go there just for the ice cream. And no one can tell me that the food wasn't better during orientation when parents were there. It's like they were saying "look, we're not gonna kill your kids with nasty cafeteria food" only to pull the rug out from under us after the rents left. 10/23/2007 11:23:18 PM |

i really didn't feel that way at all. i thought the food at orientation was fine, and i thought the food during the year was fine. i think people just go in w/ that mindset.10/24/2007 1:03:54 AM |
