The game is blacked out here in the Charlotte area. I hate Charter Cable. First the Strasburg game and now the Halladay game.

i'm in charlotte and actually have this game on espn (didnt have the strasburg game) but am opting for Peachtree (not in hd) due to the announcers.

With my current Charter service, I do not get Peachtree TV but I do get Sport South. I don't understand why the game on ESPN would be blacked out so it can be shown on Peachtree TV. That is retarded.

^I've got Charter too. I have tried to figure out all year why they are they way they are. They don't offer Peachtree at all, but will blackout all games that ESPN picks up that were orginally on PTV.

Smoltz has gotten much better in the booth since the first of the year. There are still some awkward moments between he and Ernie, especially when Joe Simpson isn't around.

Both are so great

Big series starting tomorrow. Fucking greasy Mets in NY. Mets will use arguably their three best starting pitchers (Dickey, Pelfrey, and Johan). They actually moved Johan up as the off day and All-Star game made it easy to do. Lets hope the Braves can take 2 out of 3 and keep the NL East lead heading into the 2nd half.

Prado was a beast last night. A sweep would provide a nice lead heading into the break...6 games up on everybody couldnt hurt.

I'm goin to the Saturday and Sunday games against the Brewers right after the all-star break. What i need from some of you guys that maybe live around Atlanta is a hotel within decent driving distance(20-30 min.) of the stadium where my friend and i could stay saturday night.....thanks for all help

Big series coming up against the Mets. We've got Hanson going tonight, he looked really good against the Marlins last week (6.2 IP, 5 Hits, 0 ER). Need another performance like that.

^^There are some cheaper options in worse parts of the city, and probably some cheaper options outside of the city closer to Turner Field. But the last 3-4 times i've gone down to ATL for Falcons or Braves games I always stay at the Wyndham Garden Hotel. It's close to center city so you can walk to the good restaurants and bars and it has very decent rates.

I predict some "NC State Shit" will happen, well loose all 3, and go into the break tied.

^x5 yeah, definitely stay north of the stadium to minimize the hood-ness of your visit.

^^^^ no, cancel that... Horrible location for a game. Do you already have tickets? Are you wanting to go out after the game or do you just care about being close to the stadium? There is a holiday inn on Hank Aaron/Capitol that is literally two blocks from the stadium. If you don't have tickets already let me know.

Big win tonight. Guaranteed to be in sole possession of 1st place going into the break. Hopefully we can take tomorrow and hope for the best against Santana vs Lowe on Sunday. Either way big games for Melky and Omar especially with Chipper and Heyward out.

One year anniversary of the Francoeur trade never forget

DOB on Prado v. Utley:

Quote :
"Since June 30, 2009, Prado has played in exactly 162 games and hit .327 with 52 doubles, two triples, 18 homers, 79 RBIs, 110 runs, a .369 OBP and a .490 slugging percentage. That’s an .859 OPS in 678 at-bats.

In that same period, Utley has played 157 games and hit .270 with 25 doubles, five triples, 26 homers, 79 RBIs, 109 runs, a .374 OBP and a .466 slugging percentage. That’s an .840 OPS in 577 at-bats.

Prado and Utley have the exact same number of RBIs. Utley has eight more homers and 21 steals to Prado’s five, while Prado has twice as many doubles, an average that’s 57 points higher, and a slugging percentage 34 points higher.

I don’t put too much stock in errors as any sort of definitive measurement of defense, but for what it’s worth, Prado has nine errors to Utley’s 17.

I’m not saying Prado’s better than Utley, let me make that clear. I was just really surprised at how comparable their stats were, and actually how favorably Prado stacked up against him statistically."
