Quote :
"ATLANTA (AP)-- A Democratic lawmaker is introducing a measure that would require Georgia sex offenders to post "No Candy Here" signs on Halloween.

State Rep. Rob Teilhet, who is running for Attorney General, said Friday his proposal would punish offenders who violate the law with 60 days in jail and a $1,500 fine. Similar proposals have been adopted in Florida, Indiana and Maryland.

Teilhet, a Smyrna attorney, calls the measure "an excellent tool for our police officers and our parents to use on a night when many of our children are out and vulnerable."

He said as a parent, he wants all children to steer clear of homes where sex offenders live."

they should just make them put up sex offender signs....that way you and your children know not to go over there just for candy

Is it only for pedos, or all sex offenders ?

Seems silly that if I rape a 60 year old man, I'm not able to give candy to 8 year olds

There's no correlation

It's annoying that all "Sex offenders" are treated the same.

This is why you don't go to the houses with the lights turned off.

I just feel bad for the Leibowitz family who happened to be out of town and thoughtfully left a sign out for Halloween.

or anyone going out that night that leaves a sign up...

forever branded

Besides what's already been mentioned, aren't most young children going to be trick or treating with their parents anyway?

If they think they should receive additional punishment above what they're paid/served already, why did they let them out in the first place?

Health care reform, methods of fixing the economy, environmental standards and the war are all more important, but only about half the people will agree with them on these issues so they keep attacking the sex offenders, drunk drivers and tobacco companies. Don't get me wrong those are all bad people, but not the biggest problems we have right now.
