Vote for the 2002 team as the best team in state history. EZU apparently found the poll early and has skewed it in favor of them, which can also be seen in the "best coach" category. Who even knew that Pat Dye coached at EZU?

We've just started to gain some ground. The 2002 team was at like 4% a half hour ago, but now it's coming back with around 15%. To vote multiple times, delete your cookies. I normally use Firefox, but I'm using IE to do my voting.

We're up to 33%. ECU at 44%. They were at over 70% originally.

We need to overtake ECU. We made a big push, but I guess some people have stopped voting. The team will be recognized on ESPN's College Football Live as the greatest in the state. I was a freshman during the 2002 season. It was awesome. We rioted after beating Clemson to go 9-0. We then rushed the field (last time that's happened) when we defeated FSU in the final regular season game. Rivers and Cotchery were amazing, and TA was the best freshman RB in the country. Clarrett got more pub just b/c he was on a national championship team.

So? Winning the D-IAA title and bragging about it is like a Special Olympics gold medal winner bragging to a bunch of real Olympic competitors. App was beaten soundly by our worst team in the last 50 years, and that was during a year that App won the NC.

And they beat #5 Michigan in Ann Arbor 34-32.

You honestly think any D-1A team in NC could have beaten them that year?

That Michigan team was overrated as fuck. Michigan was caught off-guard and underestimated their opponent, which isn't an uncommon occurrence in sports. Yes if that Michigan team had underestimated another NC team, then they could have probably won too. Like I said, almost that same App team got beat soundly by the worst NC State team in 50 years just the year before. They only made it across the 50 once in the entire game.

Haha, wtf are you talking about. Our 2002 team was head and shoulders above that ND team. That was the expected outcome.

That State team could have very well gone undefeated or been a one loss team, but things just didn't go right in the GT, UVA, and MD games. All came down to the wire. The GT game was specifically a gut-wrenching game. We stopped them on 3rd and long only to have them get another chance b/c they got a delay of game iirc. The crowd was so loud that the play continued without interruption. The very next play they converted.

No... Taking joy in things is a very important part of life -- but that doesn't mean those things have to be fucking stupid.
[Professional] sports are among the stupidest things ever. No one would be miserable without them.

Yeah, I guess movies are stupid too. We should just do away with those. And any other form of entertainment for that matter.

It was reading 33% a couple of hours ago. We've moved up to 35% now. Very close to overtaking ECU, who's at 44%, if we get a couple hundred more votes.
