Gw to GWB roughly 5T

GWB to 10T

Obama to 17T, will be right at or over 20T when he leaves.

The shitshow is really picking up steam. But we aren't SPENDING enough. LOL

Bush came in with a surplus and racked up double debt.

Obama came in with a record deficit on the back of a severe global recession and is on track to do about the same.

The above graph is different than mine because it relates spending to GDP. It just shows that our GDP absolutely cratered in our most recent recession, the previous recessions were more like brief slowdowns. It makes our spending look insane, but the high ratio to GDP is more due to GDP dropping rather than spending increasing to a significant degree.

dtownral, most estimates are that the total cost of the war was 1T. The biggest expenses are the ever expanding entitlements. I know that is very hard for libs to admit, but the numbers don't lie.

420, if you remember bush took over right as the internet, .com bubble popped too.
btw, W's biggest deficit was 458B in 2008. We have had over 1T deficits ever since. FYI

http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/download_multi_year_1990_2018USb_15s2li101mcn_G0f

And please don't take this as me defending bush. The medicare drug plan was the most fiscally irresponsible thing I had seen... until Obama got into office and basically doubled down on everything. I didn't think it could get much worse than W, boy was I wrong.

And looking just at federal spending.

Federal spending in 2000 was 1.8T (.9T pensions, .6T healthcare, .2 Welfare, .4 defense)

2004: 2.3T (.5T pensions, .5T healthcare, .2 welfare, .5T defense)

2008: 3.0T (.7T pensions, .7T healthcare, .3 welfare, .7T defense)

2009: 3.5T (.7T pensions, .8T healthcare, .4 welfare, .8T defense)

2013: 3.7T (.9T pensions, .9T healthcare, .4 welfare, .9T defense)

http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/fed_spending_2014USrn

Here is ALL spending. (federal, state, local)

2000: 3.2T (1T pensions, .7 healthcare, .6 education, .2 welfare, Defense will be the same for all

2004: 4.1T (.7T pensions, .7 healthcare, .7 education, .3 welfare)

2008: 5.4T (.9T pensions, 1T healthcare, .9T education, .4T welfare)

2013 estimated: 6.4T (1.1T pensions, 1.2T healthcare, .9T education, .6T welfare)

Just because money was spent one year doesn't mean it was committed to be spent that year

Lol.

Reminds me of when shit like that is on the news, or I receive some god damn NWO chain letter.

I have family members who are Masons, and I ask them when they're going to take over the world, and they're all like:

"Idk, but do you want to come to the Lodge and eat hotdogs next week?"

That's pretty much all they do. Plus sell raffle tickets and provide small scholarship opportunities locally.

Your sources are utter shit. But I already knew that. Here's a report from almost a month before that:

Someone that was actually informed would have focused on the CNNi angle instead of the sources.

But you're a knee-jerk idiot, so it's not surprising you would zero in on that.

I am surprised however you didn't latch on to Alex Jones, so kudos for that.

There is literally no breaking through that fortress of cognitive dissonance, is there?

How many more elections do you have to get wrong and lose before you change your ways? How much lower can conservative approval numbers fall before people start jumping ship? I am completely baffled by this culture of willful ignorance that exists in this country.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOUR BRAIN???

Because the majority of my opinions probably aren't all that different from yours.

I just like toying with the obvious hypocrisy of the democrats / liberals on this board.

The Obama hero worship is pathetic. The fact that CNN is garbage has little to do with Obama's pitiful relationship with the media.

Lack of transparency, drones, the list goes on and on. It's more fun to watch people not care about that than it is to try and defend Republicans / conservatives.

I would mention the kool aid, but that's so cliche.

Also I don't care if Obama retakes the house, good for him, he had it before. He can use that opportunity to make or break his legacy. As of right now I would say its garbage besides, uh, killing Osama and making Republicans look stupid?

I guess that's good enough for you?

So you're actually the immature one yowilly, trolling people?

This isn't a fucking game anymore. We almost voluntarily defaulted on our debt. People lost money. People lost jobs. The sooner that the people who support this type of political action realize that their complicity affects everyone else, the sooner we can move past this. Trolling people on TWW because you think it's funny actually affects the social consciousness of the country, however small that may be. Though that effect may be small, there arestill real consequences to those actions.

The biggest cultural problem with the United States is that people treat politics like it is a game to be won instead of a system of choices which affect everyone around them. How is it possible that something as unarguably beneficial as continuing to fund the liabilities that the government has already incurred is debatable? Whether or not to create those liabilities is the only debatable topic and conflating them is dangerously irresponsible.

Am I pissed off? You bet your ass I am pissed off. There is absolutely no reason for the episode that just occurred. Harsh rhetoric against the minority of complete fucking idiots who attempted this coup is one of the last courses of option left. The sooner the Republican Party responsibly breaks from the insurgency they have created, the sooner the country can mend it's wounds.

None of what I just said is hyperbole.

^^I don't agree with what they did - I'm not a tea party member.

But to play devil's advocate here, nearly all of the tea party people in congress ran on the platform of removing the ACA from our system. You can hate them for what they tried to do, but all they tried to do was to do right by their constituents and fulfill campaign promises.

It's just that America isn't really used to politicians trying extremely hard to deliver what they promised to deliver.

SO you're saying their constituents wanted them to remove ACA at the cost of the stability of the broader economy, or American's standing in the world? Seems like those constituents should be soundly ignored if that's the case.

being a good representative for your constituents means sometimes compromising, and sometimes saying no when your constituents are wrong. so really America is just not used to such poor governance.

There is a poll here in Utah that showed a majority of registered voters, the people who actually put Mike Lee in the Senate, wanted him to compromise on Obamacare rather than shutting down the government. So it's also complete horse shit they are doing what their constituents want. No one except a scant few lunatics actually wanted them to shut down the government over Obamacare.

Constituents =/= only the people who voted for you. Your constituency is the total number of people in whatever district you represent.
