Fox "news" is terrible. I have flipped through and watched the past couple of days to see the most biased reporting on this election process.

You mean fox news doesn't follow the Obama camps talking points and 2nd rate propagandists word for word?

Yeh, those racist sexist bastards.

I have no problem with Faux News providing parity for the traditionally more liberal biased msnbc networks. What does irk me is when my more conservative friends and other fox news fans advocated that it is supposedly unbiased.

i really don't care what they talk about but atleast give the points from each side.
CNN and MSNBC will bring in people to discuss the issues. Fox news will have the same people on every day talking about the same thing in a different context.

i watched fox news for a few hours yesterday and could not believe how fucking openly biased they were throughout the evening (not just one dude's show, but every motherfucker on there). and then they turn right around, lying through their teeth and say they're "fair and balanced." holy fuck it pains me to realize how many americans eat up this tripe so willingly.

the few hours i watched was a complete smear on obama over BS like lipstick and they sucked palin's cock like it was bigger than john holmes' junk.

the same goes for the entire mccain campaign as of late. they smear the democrats all-the-while complaining of being smeared and being the victim. it's disgusting. that's what works for them though... no discussion on real issues, keep slingin' the mud, use minute but divisive topics to get votes.

</end rant>

^ Haha, agreed.

I'll give it to FOX News, atleast they have the guts to be blatantly biased and one-sided. Others try too hard to be luke-warm. Ever tasted luke-warm milk?

^^^ Fox News certainly helped reinforce the world view of a large number of Republicans and thus firing them up, but I seriously doubt it won any new "converts" over to the Republican cause.

Fox News is biased.

But they aren't as biased as CNN and MSNBC are. If only people were smart enough to do their own research and could see through the commentary.

It's the most retarded thing on Earth that all these news stations feel like they must clearly position themselves or carry the flag for some political party when the majority of Americans themselves teeter between the two.

LOOK PEOPLE, THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM HAS FAILED US

Fox News is a gazillion times more entertaining.

Also anyone who says they do not lean way to the right is out of their mind. I mean look at Alan Colmes......he never even gets to talk. When he does its weaksauce.

They need a liberal person who can actually argue with Sean, but then furniture would probably fly.

In my experience:

1) Fox News is overtly biased - and yes I agree you can see that bias in damn near every show. That bias is very prevalent in the side-commentary (i.e. little quips, off-the-cuff comments), the quality of the conservative vs. liberal guests, and the lack of any legitimate liberal hosts, anchors, and regular contributors.

2) MSNBC is very biased too. Scarborough helps a little though.

3) CNN has a very liberal line-up, but for the most part the commentary and analysis seems farily objective.

Was interesting to compare those thoughts to the 205 bias study at UCLA:

http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucla/Media-Bias-Is-Real-Finds-UCLA-6664.aspx

18/20 major media outlets score to the left:

Quote :
"Of the 20 major media outlets studied, 18 scored left of center, with CBS' "Evening News," The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times ranking second, third and fourth most liberal behind the news pages of The Wall Street Journal.

Only Fox News' "Special Report With Brit Hume" and The Washington Times scored right of the average U.S. voter.

The most centrist outlet proved to be the "NewsHour With Jim Lehrer." CNN's "NewsNight With Aaron Brown" and ABC's "Good Morning America" were a close second and third."

Quote :
"The fourth most centrist outlet was "Special Report With Brit Hume" on Fox News, which often is cited by liberals as an egregious example of a right-wing outlet. While this news program proved to be right of center, the study found ABC's "World News Tonight" and NBC's "Nightly News" to be left of center. All three outlets were approximately equidistant from the center, the report found."

Quote :
"Another finding that contradicted conventional wisdom was that the Drudge Report was slightly left of center.

"One thing people should keep in mind is that our data for the Drudge Report was based almost entirely on the articles that the Drudge Report lists on other Web sites," said Groseclose. "Very little was based on the stories that Matt Drudge himself wrote. The fact that the Drudge Report appears left of center is merely a reflection of the overall bias of the media."

Yet another finding that contradicted conventional wisdom relates to National Public Radio, often cited by conservatives as an egregious example of a liberal news outlet. But according to the UCLA-University of Missouri study, it ranked eighth most liberal of the 20 that the study examined.

"...If anything, government-funded outlets in our sample have a slightly lower average ADA score (61), than the private outlets in our sample (62.8).""

Preventing bias:

Quote :
"The researchers took numerous steps to safeguard against bias — or the appearance of same — in the work, which took close to three years to complete. They went to great lengths to ensure that as many research assistants supported Democratic candidate Al Gore in the 2000 election as supported President George Bush. They also sought no outside funding, a rarity in scholarly research."

I'm pretty indifferent to Faux News, and it's fine if they're going to be openly biased to balance out the perceived liberal-ness of other news networks...

But what bothers me is the complete willful ignorance that they bring to the table whenever one of their people tries to "debate" someone. Specifically, I am talking about Mr. Sean Hannity. Whenever he has a guest in front of him that he disagrees with, his argument always ends up being "HEY IF I KEEP INTERRUPTING YOU AND SPOUTING THINGS THAT HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN PROVEN INCORRECT, I WILL WIN! STOP TALKING, I'M RIGHT! THE FACT THAT YOU CAN'T MAKE A POINT ABOVE MY SHOUTING CLEARLY INDICATES THAT YOU HAVE NO POINTS TO MAKE!"

Sorry for caps, but Hannity really needs to shut the fuck up.

Fox News spouts out the same shit for republicans that CNN does for democrats. Just because youre used to seeing liberal media doesnt mean theyre somehow worse than everyone else. They just have a different view point.

Liberals hate fox news. Liberals still have to admit CNN is biased. Im a republican, I cant even stand to watch CNN but Im not a retard and I know Fox News is biased.

the reason why yall so adametly hate fox news is that youve been systematically desensitized by the pinko news media that you take tv news, newspapers, and radio reporting and have no problem adhering to their widespread propaganda.

so i guess when fox news discredits false news reports, skewed editorials, overt deception, you take it personally because you have delusions of your news sources being a media of honest reporters who are only here to provide our country with trustworthy information ...

for every action, theres a reaction so when they report untruthfully, fox news exposes them. ill be the first to tell you the conservative media minorities over there provide the same news, just with conservative interpretation. of course its bias, but that is 1 news station amongst all the rest... it gives the viewer a chance to choose which side they want to get info from.

when the media all share a extreme ideaology and has no skeptics or competition, you give them unelected and unchecked power over the entire population. thank god fox news is there so some of us can keep an open mind and see both sides of the story.

No it's just that FOX is so ridiculously fucking far in the GOP's ass that they are a farce of a "balanced network".

Say what you will about CBS, MSNBC or CNN but they do have shows that aren't complete partisan hackjobs. You can't name one Fox show that is even remotely resembling fair or close. The very fact that you guys are basically US AGAINST THE WORLD!!!!!! mentality illustrates how far off FOX is from mainstream.

I want you to think about this: Have you ever though that the simplest explanation is that when there are a far greater number of networks you hate (CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, and all print/online media except Drudge) vs. just FOX NEWS that perhaps maybe you're dealing with a little bit of fucking confirmation bias?

I think this whole bitching about the media thing is equivalent to crying at a ref's bad call at your sister's soccer game. Just weak.

I'm smart enough to take the news for what it's worth and sift through the bias. I watch Fox, MSNBC, and CNN.

Fox is clearly the most biased. The only reason the others probably get rated left is because they report more when Republicans do something bad... which when considering they've been in power for several years longer is a valid point. I base this on nothing more than the fact that I can SEE when Fox News does something biased. I have trouble SEEING CNN or MSNBC doing something biased. I've noticed it before, but it occurs far, far less frequently.
