Absolutely! Jay handled this thing brilliantly! If you know him, be sure to thank him cause he saved all these tickets from being given to less dedicated fans, and hopefully boosting our home court advantage even more.

uhm...you're going to need about 350 people to screw up in order to be guaranteed a ticket.

i mean, the individual checks tosses 3 out of 7 people from my group (which i totally support, even though one can't help it).

i imagine that between the 3200 signed up, they lose 350 easy.

^^^^ Yeah, but under the revised rules they have to be there half the time and even then they're taking their chances.

And 1 of my 6 group members isn't coming as well. 1 out of every 6 not showing up/only coming for two checkpoints would do the trick for those staying the entire time. 3200* (5/6) = 2667, which is less than the 2,847 tickets alloted. Of course I'm sure all of you figured this out. I was just bored.

"Mills told Stafford in an e-mail Thursday that he also had the support of Zach Adams, senior class president, to reduce the tickets.

Adams denied the claim.

"While I understand their arguments, I personally feel the students who are willing to devote that much time are the students who most deserve the tickets," he said.

In an e-mail response to Mills, Stafford wrote, "I've talked with Dick Christy and based on your response, I think the best outcome is to tell SG that 1500 tickets will be allocated through campout and the remainder (approx 1400) will be distributed through the normal system."

Despite this, in an interview late Thursday night, Mills said they were not actually advocating for this cut for this year, rather for next year."

Bobby does nothing but lie. He is just running for President. Send him an email or call him. Tell him how big an idiot he is.

whats funny about the 1/2 checkpoint attendance rule is that.....as long as you have half your group there, its still pretty easy to get around. Be there at 8 PM and 7 AM and you get your 2 checkpoints......the random ones don't even matter except for the 1/2 the group thing.

^only bad thing is the first tickets go to people with the most checkpoints, so those that only make 2 are going to be the ones that dont get tickets, most likely thought the checkpoint rule will knock down the numbers considerably, I bet there will be a small on demand period after

Well, now that this crisis is solved...I have a MUCH more important question for student government. Why the fuck do we only have 2900 student tickets per game? The dean dome only has 2000 or so more seats but, as a UNC friend so gleefully pointed out, they have more than twice as many student tickets (6000). And our athletic fee is 2 bucks more

^^^^ Before we can legitimately complain about the lack of seats, we have to consistently fill all of the seats allotted for us. Not just the ones for the Carolina game.

Also if you watch carolina games you will notice their students are no where near the court. They have one group of students (probably 500 or so) in the risers behind one goal. The rest of their seats are in the upper deck. Though we get less seats at least we get better seats. Good point made above though until students prove they can go to more games we don't need anymore tickets. The only game people seem to care about is the UNC game. It sucks that students like me who go to 10-15 games a year might not get tickets to the UNC game. So if you get a ticket to the UNC game your ass better be in your seat.

statered pretty much summed it up -- we have a lot of students who just don't show up to the games, and we have a number of others who leave early if we're not up by 20+ points at halftime

The boilerplate response from Athletics every time we talk about getting student tickets is that "Student demand does not justify more student tickets at this time." Change student demand for tickets, and we'll be able to get more tickets.
