Either curve out to sea or go mainland. Current model favors impact on my hometown/area.

Reading some blogs, says that the 'cane is weakening and is being influenced to keep chugging a little west. Also supposedly a storm system or an L or something (I don't do meteorology so I don't know what it means) sitting out in FL that isn't being considered in the current models.

Very interested to see how this plays out.

I think I might go pick up some batteries at Walmart today, just to be on the safe side (plus, batteries will always be used eventually!)

Now im getting a little more worried.

Its projected to make landfall within 10 miles of our beach house...not to mention my cousin has a wedding Saturday down there. Pretty sure thats being moved at the moment.

How would this effect flights on friday? certainly Saturday morning I would not be able to fly...but Friday?

My uncle lives at Topsail beach, 3 rows in from the ocean. Best friend's grandparents have an oceanfront house there (one of the very very few that didn't get obliterated by Fran).

Giving it a day before I make my plans to drive down Thursday and help them both board up...

they said the F word on wral. FLOYD. my stomach jumped. i'm paying attention now. gonna get gas & some water, although we have a filter, tonight. batteries isn't a bad idea either. we have a beach house in emerald isle too. i'm a little nervous. rocky mount has had SO much damn rain lately. we got 4-5" just on sunday. i've never seen the water cover my street like it did. yikes

they keep mentioning a wobble taking it LESS towards the east...and it all depends on this front as to how much it turns. we shall see I guess.

^^Where do they mention that? Curious.

Everything I see has it trending more and more to the east...which is what I figured it would do 2-3 days ago.

Also because most of us live in Raleigh where it will likely be a sunny day. Once again unless you live on the outer banks I wouldn't be too concerned. Check back tomorrow evening late and see where it's headed.

Models seem to have a consensus now and track hasn't shifted east much last few NHC updates. Outer Banks landfall still very possible but Raleigh will probably just see rain and a little gusty winds.

the models are definitely in a pretty decent agreement overall. There is a ~50-75 mile spread, but that's about it... I just don't see it making too much of a move back west, if any... May make landfall on the outerbanks but that's looking like the only chance right now

^^everyone EXCEPT The Weather Channel is now stating that it has moved a little more west and could be a threat given the timing of the front.

How much rain yall think we will see Fri/Sat/Sun in Raleigh? I'm supposed to work 7am-2pm Saturday and Sunday outside. If we get rain, I will be off for the weekend. If we don't get much rain, I won't have fun Friday or Saturday nights.

I'll just be like dude the best place to be is on the beach nothing can fall on you! Maybe I should make some fake media credentials and roll in an unmarked white van! I should probably take the free candy sign off the side first though. Maybe throw up a TWW Action News sticker.
