saw these parked outside my hotel last night (in San Diego)

Was up in the Laguna Hills/Beach area over the weekend and saw about as many exotics as you see Range Rovers in Raleigh. several Aston Martins, Maseratis, ferraris, Lambos, 3 R8s, and some that I couldn't ID. unfortunately, my phone was dead while we were driving around, so didn't get any pics of what I saw that day.

Saw a Tesla parked in Fuquay-Varina today.

No, it's not really an exotic, and I personally find it to be a stupid, pointless vehicle...but it's noteworthy and the first one I've seen.

Saw my first MB SLS AMG (outside of a showroom). Classic SL Gullwing silver in color.

That car is gorgeous... so much more so than the SLR. And it looked tiny!

What I can't understand is why it costs half as much as the SLR.

^^^Simpler design and less complicated assembly. It also shares a common engine with every other AMG badged vehicle (with a few minor differences like dry sump, intake, exhaust, etc.). That lowers costs dramatically. Also, the SLS is NOT a small car. That bitch is heavy.

Saw a MB CLK63 AMG Black Series at the Cary Auto Show on Sunday, made me look twice

Last night saw an orange Exige and yellow 360 Modena drive by while enjoying a few beers at The Raleigh Times. (the Ferrari ended up parallel parking behind me, haha).

The Fiat 500 is a Chrysler product that just got introduced recently in the US. It is anticipated that Alpha Romeo may come to the US next year some time. The 500 is going to be the only "Fiat" model offered here, I believe.

I think the Fiat is awesome. In comparison to the Smart ForTwo, this car offers so much more for about $1k or so more... slightly less emissions, better gas mileage, more storage while not being that much bigger (a couple inches in each direction), and better power to weight ratio. Fiat 500 > Smartcars

[Edited on November 27, 2010 at 6:34 PM. Reason : Fiat 500 looks sexier than a Smartcar.]

^seriously? A tandem bicycle or 3 wheeled golf cart is a better than a Smart (with the exception of the crazy fuckers that swap the Busa motors into them). Also, fuck a fiat 500 that isn't at least an abarth. Seriously, this is the exotic thread. Let's at least keep it to cars that you would choose to be seen in over a Honda odyssey.

V - it's called exaggeration. Congrats on thinking that I honestly believe anyone here would choose a tandem bike over a car also.

I would rather be seen in a base Fiat 500 over a fully optioned out Honda Odyssey... and that's true for [nearly] everybody in here.

P.S. I would rather be seen = I would rather drive (I don't give a shit about what other people think about what I am seen driving)

But of course, it is not an exotic, so your point using an extremely poor choice for comparison, is taken. Ragged was just being his usual moron, because he saw something and didn't know how to use Google.

that is the biggest load of crap I have heard in a while...

ex·ot·ic
/?g'z?t?k/
–adjective
1.
of foreign origin or character; not native; introduced from abroad, but not fully naturalized or acclimatized: exotic foods; exotic plants.
2.
strikingly unusual or strange in effect or appearance: an exotic hairstyle.
3.
of a uniquely new or experimental nature: exotic weapons.

I fail to see how a car that is just being brought to this country, and I personally have only seen in Europe, is not considered exotic. A suburban would be an "exotic" in France (at least it would have been 10 years ago... don't know what the market for SUV's is like over there). Just because it doesn't have a dancing horse on the hood, and will not do 0-60 in under 5 seconds does not mean it isn't an exotic. Yall need to work on your trolling a little better, and at least get some workable material

Let's be realistic. Exotic in most cases = unobtainable. Nobody cares about some new Fiat (that anyone who keeps up with car news would have known was on it's way over anyway) that in a year or two will be all over the place. I don't call the first 2011 Honda Accord I see exotic just b/c I haven't seen one yet.

If I saw that in a parking lot, I would definitely report back- you know why? BECAUSE IT IS UNCOMMON IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD, THUS EXOTIC

arguing that it isn't is just stupid

note, I've already admitted that we might have different standards for exotic, but you can't say that a car new to america, that dude has never seen before is not an exotic vehicle. The first Hybrid I saw was exotic to me. The first electric car I saw was exotic to me. It might not be exotic to you, but you are just trolling Ragged for the sake of trolling

hell, if I saw a honda integra, I'd call it exotic, just because we only had the acura's here. And those are very obtainable. Hell, so are the R34's and Silvias... I looked very hard at getting a silvia imported to california and driving back here across the country.

^and I welcome this challenge!

I haven't played it yet. But I hear the only real difference is that GT5's graphics are 50% better than Forza (and GT5 shares the nostalgia of all the previous ones... I "grew up" with those)

Here's a couple google pics for reference:

I bought a PS3 originally just for GT5. Forza can't match the physics engine of GT5.

My weekend trip to DC was a disappointment in car terms. Just one Lotus Exige, two Maserati Quattroportes, one Dodge Viper (exotic to me, if not to you), and the normal collection of Porches.
