Sure, pm me your address. I can go ahead and load them in inert cases if you'd like. Do you have dies? You'll need yo resize the cases even for dummy rounds.

Is that a monolithic setup? What barrel are you going to go with?

No, it is their new 2-piece keymod system that accepts all the keymod accessories

I think I'm going to go with the 18" UltraMatch from Rainier (Shilen blank) when it comes back in stock. Didn't particularly want to spend $400 on a barrel, but the lower level Select .308 series (H&K blank) haven't gotten the best reviews. They just came out with their mid-grade Match series for $300, but haven't seen any reviews on those yet.

I got the same barrel in .223, real excited to try it out, would love to try one on my AR-10 too. I think you will definitely be happy with that setup, throw on a nice trigger and PRS stock and that will be one heck of a rifle.

This go-around, they aren't. At least not in the forseeable future. I hadn't mailed mine off because I was being lazy and figured they'd still be there once I got around to it, and now I have to go back and redo the order form for a H&R. Needless to say, it's going out this afternoon.

too bad you missed out on this. i had a shitload and used it all up.

its the best stuff you can find, and its out there (dont settle for anything less).

maybe buy some commercial and start reloading your own. its dramatically underloaded (remington, for example).

sellier and bellot is reasonably priced (again, reload). PPU.

^^^^ Right, what do you mean by "this go-'round"?

I don't want one that badly right now...think they'll have more in 6 months, or a year, or 5 years, or what?

it's not like CMP is the only place to buy an M1. it's simply the best deal you'll find short of a widow who doesn't know what she's got. when CMP is out of Garands, you'll still be able to get one if you really want one.

also, i don't think they're really "out" of Springfield service grades. i think they're just so swamped and so far behind that they want folks to chill the fuck out and let them catch their breath.

Harrington & Richardson made M1s for the military post-WWII (Korean War and such). the demand for CMP H&Rs isn't as huge because there's no chance of getting a WWII-era receiver. there's no guarantee you'll get a WWII-era receiver when you order a Springfield, either, but at least there's a chance. the H&R is still a good deal and will still be a great investment.

^i don't think we'll see anything significant on the national level. it's political suicide. there has been plenty of state-level legislation. the most significant thing to come of that is that a large number of manufacturers have started applying the same rules to law enforcement in those states. if us peons can't have 30 rd mags, neither can the LEOs. SCOTUS says they'll be hearing a 2A case soon.

i bought a bucket (over 1k pieces by weight) of .30-06 HXP Greek surplus brass for $100
i ordered 1k 150 gr flat-base (M2 ball pull-downs) for $130 this morning
primers are $30/k
about $.13 per round for powder

that's less than $.40/rd

[Edited on March 3, 2013 at 4:33 PM. Reason : $.30/rd on the second firing. most folks agree 4 firings is attainable in a Garand.]

I put in my order with a can of the HXP, so I guess I may or may not get some. I'll probably go ahead and order dies and molds when they run my card anyway since factory ammo is hard to come by as it is.

NRR, can you tell me where you found components? If I can't find anything, I would be willing to pay $jacked-up for a couple hundred pc. of brass. Nothing worse than a gun with no ammo.

One of my friends recently finally found the FNX9 he was searching for, and he wants to buy ammo. Is there anyplace which still has reasonably sane prices on 9mm in bulk? I thought that he and I plus one more friend could go in together on about 1000 rounds. Everywhere I've looked thus far is showing upwards of $450 before shipping. WTF.

^^^ I've been checking Wal-Marts several times a week since Sandyhook. I managed to find some Winchester white box 100 count 9mm a few weekends ago. You just have to check often because nothing reasonably priced stays in stock for more than a few hours these days. I've not seen any reasonably priced online deals.

Logical to someone who doesn't think logically about weapons sure.....

lets apply it to everything, someone steals your car, kills some people with it and makes you an accessory to murder troll boy...

Hopefully there is some common sense in the law. It should encourage people to secure their weapons but not punish people who took reasonable precautions but still had their guns stolen.

So you're saying if you leave your car unlocked and it is stolen and used in a crime, THEN you're at fault? Seems reasonable
